Debugging RDA Sync Issues - useful and hints articles 

Use ?diag at the end of the URL when browsing to the sqlcesa30.dll to check connectitivity. This diagnostics tool provides information on the ability of IIS to connect to SQL Server.

e.g. http://{your domain or server name}/reach4mobile/sqlcesa30.dll?diag

RDA Quick Check List (use this quick check list if experiencing RDA issues)

  • Check mobile device can browse to sqlcesa30.dll. - if not check active sync and connectivity settings.
  • Check URL settings for sqlcesa30.dll correctly specified in RDA setup settings.
  • Check on a PC that sqlcesa30.dll can be browsed. Use the ?diag option to check connectivity and other issues are not present.
  • Check that publication settings correctly specified in RDA setup settings.
  • Check that publication snapshots have been run successfullly.
  • Check username and password correctly specified.
  • If using SSL confirm that mobile device approves certificate. Browse sqlcesa30.dll using I.E. on device with SSL.
